The Vancouver Club. A classic European style venue
Considering we actually got married here, of course The Vancouver Club had to be on our favourite wedding venues list. For those looking for the ultimate European wedding in Vancouver, the Georgian room is the right choice. With its crystal chandeliers and tall windows, it looks straight out of Bridgerton. The Duke would definitely approve!
Everything, from the waiting rooms to the reception space has that grand European feel. We’ve photographed several weddings here and pictures always come out amazing.
Hycroft Manor
Hycroft is actually part of the University Women’s Club of Vancouver. This Victorian-style wedding venue is very popular among Vancouver-based couples. The manor’s grand entrance, concrete pillars and lush vegetation make for a magical wedding venue perfect for indoor and outdoor events.
The stunning manor is especially beautiful during spring and summer, particularly if you’re lucky enough to have a sunny wedding day. Just look at that natural light! Having different backdrop options and beautiful rooms all around makes pictures have a magical feel to them. We always enjoy going to Hycroft.
Cecil Green
If you’re looking for a Victorian-style wedding venue in Vancouver, this could be the right choice. With imposing architecture and beautiful gardens, Cecil Green gives a lavish, romantic touch to your event. We’ve had the chance to photograph both indoor and outdoor weddings here, and it’s amazing how much it resembles actual European wedding venues.
For a wedding with tons of different backgrounds, Cecil Green is perfect. There’s a small forest full of evergreens that make wedding gowns pop, and the solarium is amazing to give a light, bright feel to your pics.
Rosewood Hotel Georgia
Looking for that classic European palace feel? The Rosewood Hotel Georgia delivers. Although this is an indoor-only venue, the majestic ballrooms offer enough space and style even for large parties. No need to deal with Vancouver weather!
If you want that old-world charm, Hotel Georgia packs lots. It was built in 1927 but the architecture has plenty of European details including intricate mouldings, large windows and high ceilings. One of the weddings we photographed here had a winter wonderland theme, and just look at how magical it looked! Paired with the right décor, you can absolutely customize the ambiance to your personal style, from classic to avant-garde.
Brock House
This wedding venue has all the charm of European villas. Brock House is a heritage mansion with beautiful outdoor spaces and a spectacular waterfront view. From the gardens you can see both the ocean and the mountains, so every picture has that magical old-world feel we absolutely love. As photographers, we particularly enjoy using the beautiful gardens as props, and they have a stunning little wooden bridge with lots of rustic charm.
On the other hand, this is actually a restaurant so wedding planning is pretty easy with them. No need to worry about vendors, they have food options available.
Vancouver Art Gallery
This indoor wedding venue offers a good mix of modern architecture and European charm. While the actual ceremony will take part in a modern setting, there’s plenty of options to have classic historical wedding pictures. The Vancouver Art Gallery has a stunning marble staircase, a rotunda and a forecourt that all make impressive backgrounds for your photos.
The Permanent
If you want your wedding to feel like a grand Victorian banquet, The Permanent could be the right choice. Transformed from Vancouver landmark to an event venue, it has everything you need for a European-style wedding. This decadent wedding venue has an impressive ballroom with a beautiful stained-glass ceiling, classic historical mouldings and stunning tile floors. Check out some of the pictures below!
Fairmont Vancouver
Want a grand, classic wedding? Then the Fairmont hotel Vancouver might be the right choice. While they have several rooms available, the Pacific Ballroom is the favourite for couples looking for that luxurious European style because of its huge windows and beautiful crystal chandeliers. While we haven’t worked as photographers at the Fairmont, we’ve been lucky guests and having the extra space to dance is always a great add-on.
As you can see, there are plenty of beautiful options to have a classic historical European wedding without leaving Vancouver. No need to go overseas! Are you ready to book your dream venue?
